I trust this newsletter finds everyone well and right in the middle of Happy Farming
calving and lambing which I hope is all going well. Russell Proffit
I would like to thank the members who took the time to respond
to the questionnaire that was sent out following the AGM. It was
       disappointing that so few replied.
I would like to make a special mention of the Morton family for
a great show on Country Calendar a couple of weeks ago. This
would have to be the most exposure the breed has had to the
       public for a long time.
I am sure you will all join me in passing on our condolences to
the Reeves family on the passing of John, a life member of the
Shorthorn Society. Also, condolences to the Dromgool family on
the passing of Jim, a great supporter of the Shorthorn breed for
       a very long time.
The bull sales for the season are all done and dusted with some
good results. A couple of female sales, which have been well
supported which has resulted in some new members joining the WORLD SHORTHORN
society which is a great thing for the breed
We are currently working on getting a couple of bulls into Beef CONFERENCE
progeny trials. Hopefully this all goes to plan and we can compare
our great breed with others in the same commercial environment. “MEATING THE FUTURE”
This will come at a cost to the society but we believe it is very
important to be a part of. The Australian Shorthorn Family invites you to the 2019
